Editorial Policy

FlixGeo combines source-driven catalog pages with original guides and explanations. Catalog facts such as cast, release dates, ratings, and provider records are attributed to their upstream datasets. Editorial content adds interpretation: how to read an offer type, why country results differ, what a source field can prove, and what remains unknown.

We do not pass a third-party synopsis off as an original review, and we do not add unsupported claims merely to make a page sound more current or definitive.

For factual statements, the preferred evidence order is:

• the relevant provider's official listing or terms for provider-controlled details;
• the documented upstream API response for catalog and availability fields;
• an official studio, network, distributor, or creator source;
• reputable secondary reporting when a primary record is unavailable.

A search snippet, social post, user recollection, or another aggregator can identify an issue worth investigating, but it is not automatically sufficient evidence for a change. Conflicting sources are described as conflicting rather than forced into one certain answer.

A useful streaming statement identifies the title, country, provider, and offer type. When known, it should also distinguish a subscription catalog from a rental or purchase. We avoid universal wording such as “streaming everywhere” when the evidence covers only one territory.

A named personal byline is used only for a real contributor whose identity and role can be supported. We do not invent reviewer personas, credentials, biographies, headshots, publication dates, update dates, or first-hand testing claims.

Organizational documentation and unsigned guides are maintained under the FlixGeo name. If a reliable publication or revision timestamp is not recorded by the publishing workflow, no precise date is displayed or added to structured data.

A provider's inclusion in source availability data is not an endorsement. Editorial explanations should not rank or describe a service more favorably because of an undisclosed commercial relationship. Advertising, sponsorship, affiliate compensation, or supplied access that materially affects a page must be labelled where readers can see it.

Specific corrections are checked against the relevant source and the way FlixGeo maps that source. Confirmed errors should be fixed at the narrowest responsible layer: a factual sentence, a mapping rule, a stale cache, or an upstream record. We do not alter a source-derived fact simply to match an unverified request.

A material evergreen revision should be documented when a verified change record exists. Minor typography and formatting fixes do not receive invented “updated” dates.
